About Me

Hi there, welcome to my website. Glad you could stop by. Here'a a little bit about me:

There's a lot that goes on in my day, but work takes up the biggest slice. My job goes by many titles - Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Administrator, DevOps Engineer, "Computer Guy" (my personal favorite). I know loads about computers, in both a specific and general sense, and I am paid to make them work well. I can do anything from setting up a laptop with a printer all the way up to configuring network infrastructure. You should care because I can help you do anything you want with computers.

This site is mainly a personal blog focused on the values of freedom, independence, and longevity, and how computers help or hurt those goals. Computer Freedom is one of the most important issues of our time - since computers are in everything now, we must ensure the computers we use respect individual freedom and privacy, and are controlled by their users' interests, not unregulated faceless corpos. I value simplicity, interoperability, stability, security, and transpareny; only Free Software will give you that - anything else is a mystery.

Every word on this site is written by me (unless otherwise credited), using vim or neovim, with only the assistance of a manually-activated, oft-forgotten spell checker. There has never been, nor will ever be, any artificially generated text on this site.

I've compiled a list of computer software and hardware I use for those curious about how I compute.
